About Erin M. McDonough, PhD
Dr. Erin McDonough is the founder of NJNeuropsych and Psychological Diagnostic Evaluations of New York. She began this work to better understand the unique ways each client learns, processes information, and engages with the world, and her passion for helping clients learn more about themselves has only grown with experience.
Dr. McDonough earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and she received a Certificate in Neuropsychology Specialization Training from the Fielding Graduate Institute. She has served on the faculties of St. John’s University and Rutgers University, where she trained and supervised graduate students in psychological assessment.
As an LDA (Learning Disabilities Association of America) endorsed expert, Dr. McDonough has taught courses on learning disability identification, cognitive assessment, and crisis intervention. She has co-authored book chapters and co-edited a professional volume on learning disability identification and cognitive assessment, as well as presented to schools and professional organizations across New York, New Jersey, and nation-wide.​
At the heart of her work at NJNeuropsych is a deep commitment to helping individuals and families better understand their strengths and needs through comprehensive, research-based evaluations.
Our Mission
It is our mission at NJNeuropsych to provide high-quality, research-based, comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to learners of all ages that help them understand why they struggle and connect the results to effective solutions for these challenges. Our evaluations are rooted in science but performed with understanding, compassion, and collaboration to ensure clients feel heard, validated, and supported.
